Information about the University:-
Originally the Kannur University was established on 9th November 1995 as in the name of “Malabar University” promulgaton of an Ordinance by the Governor of Kerala but later Kerala Legislative Assembly changed its name under the act no 22 to Kannur University. On the day of 2nd march 1996 the Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala inaugurated the university and handed over it to the state to provide better higher education.
